Key Responsibilities
Lead CMDB and ITOM Initiatives: Take ownership of the CMDB, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and alignment with Verizon's IT operations and business needs.
CMDB Architecture and Design: Design and implement CMDB architecture, define data models, and establish relationships among configuration items (CIs) to ensure a robust and scalable CMDB.
Configuration Management: Define and enforce policies and processes for effective configuration management, including CI creation, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
Discovery and Service Mapping: Lead and oversee ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to accurately represent Verizon’s infrastructure and application dependencies in the CMDB.
Process Improvement: Work closely with ITSM, ITOM, and other teams to identify areas of improvement, streamline workflows, and optimize processes that rely on CMDB data.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and align CMDB efforts with Verizon's broader objectives.
Data Quality Management: Establish and maintain data quality standards, implement validation rules, and regularly audit the CMDB for accuracy and compliance with industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in ITSM/ITOM, with at least 5 years working specifically with ServiceNow, including CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
Strong expertise in ServiceNow platform configuration, customization, and implementation with a focus on ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping modules.
In-depth understanding of configuration management principles, CI lifecycle management, and ServiceNow data models.
Proficiency in JavaScript, XML, JSON, and other relevant programming languages; experience with REST and SOAP integrations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
